KASHI GRÄTZ - exhibition opening

Paws and claws appear on Kashi Grätz's canvases—forms that have emerged from earlier animal figures. The paw: soft, organic. The claw: sharp, pointed, piercing. These forms grasp, entwine, intertwine—they radiate a wild power. But the wild is not only expressed in the figures. In her textile works, Kashi also develops an independent visual language that increasingly moves into the abstract. Here, fabric is sewn onto paper – a symbiosis that is hardly compatible.
